Bake Club with Christina Tosi Featuring Recipe for Butter Bones!



In case you missed it, our Board Member, Christina Tosi, shared her skills with us as she went on Instagram and baked Butter Bones- a special treat for dogs! Christina is an award-winning chef, TV personality, and founder of Milk Bar. In this fun, entertaining, and certainly high-energy baking video, she not only put those skills to good use, but she also shared how Compassion Animal Project personally resonates with her as a board member and pet owner.

Butter Bones

Makes 1 dozen

Ingredients:


2 cups flour (plus extra for dusting)

½ cup canned pumpkin

¼ cup chicken, beef, or vegetable broth

1 egg

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon


Heat the oven to 325°F and spray your baking sheet.


In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix together, until you’re able to knead the dough into a ball.


Dust a clean, dry section of your countertop with flour. Place the dough on down and use a rolling pin to roll it out until it is a half-inch thick. Use a ruler! Prick the dough with a fork! Cut into bones (or other dog-friendly shapes) with cookie cutters.


Transfer the cut biscuits to your baking tray and bake for 25 minutes at 325°F, or until they dry out completely. (Larger biscuits may require an additional 5 to 10 minutes of baking.)


Cool completely before serving to your favorite pooch.
