Shelby Nace, Esq.

Shelby is a restructuring and insolvency attorney DLA Piper LLP, based in New York City. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Classical Civilizations from Florida State University and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan. While in law school, Shelby worked for the Michigan Innocence Clinic, where she sought exoneration for wrongfully incarcerated prisoners; as well as the Michigan Human Trafficking Clinic, where she helped victims of human trafficking who had escaped to the United States obtain legal status in order to remain in the country.

 

Her career, while devoted mainly to restructuring and insolvency, also includes a robust pro bono practice. Shelby is passionate about using her degree and experience to help others in need. In furthering this goal, she has represented clients in matters such as transgender name changes, securing visas for victims of human trafficking and representing immigrants seeking asylum.

 

When she is not in the office, Shelby loves to go on hikes with her 8 year old rescue dog Scooter, attend music events and ski as often as she can.
